The National Weather Service is still forecasting high tides, possibly accompanied by heavy rain, for the Puget Sound coastal areas of Pierce County. Minor coastal flooding is possible with water levels potentially rising to a maximum of two feet above ground level along shorelines and low-lying coastal areas.
SAFETY TIPS If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Make sure gutters and storm drains around your home are clear of debris. Remove loose items outside your home so they do not get swept up by tides or flood waters and damage property or injure people. Secure items you cannot easily or safely move before the high tides....
