The Great ShakeOut practice  ocurred on October 17th.  But, you can go to shakeout.org to learn more about this national effort.  Your Fox Island Emergency Preparedness (FIEP) team recommends your checking in to that website to discover a myriad of information on earthquakes.  That site is available every day of the year.

This is an opportunity for each of us to independently learn about earthquake potential in our vulnerable Northwest area and to check out the advice available for preparing for as well as dealing with an earthquake.  You will find that information very much aligned with the instructions from FIEP on this website (fi-ready.org).

The emergency response exercise FIEP conducted on October 12th was a part of FIEP's ongoing effort to improve our Emergency Response to maximize your safety (and maybe survival) in a major event.

In this website under the Emergency Preparedness tab, you will find access to information including who is your Block Coordinator (and, what to do if you don't have a Block Coordinator).

In our 'Prepare in a Year' advice column on this website, you will find October's subject is 'Earthquake Preparedness'.  Check that out, too!

The 'Prepare in a Year' monthly featured content link is here:
